Transience

For this project as a starting point we were assigned a group task which involved creating a site documentary film - there were no particular brief requirements for style or theme, it was left up to each group - after which we returned to individual work to produce our projects.

The Westcliff of Ramsgate, in the UK, is right next to a bird reserve and other areas of special protection. However, the Westcliff itself was largely forgotten and much of the older local architecture is falling apart or being left to accrue sand and pigeon detritus.

To highlight this, the group decided to use the camera as if it had been dropped and just left recording; autofocus and all.

Group Members:
S. Mistrali, ES Leach, J Whitewood-Neal

The field recordings were the main group effort here, whilst my specific contribution was the video and audio assembly and editing. I also chose the music, with the groups permission.
